Our History
How It All Started
The story of our team and introduction to R/C racing starts about 20 years ago at the original World of RC/Thunder Alley Speedway. One Saturday, Lenny decides to go watch an R/C car race for the first time. After watching how things worked, he decided to buy a brand new Associated RC10 GT. He had it ready to race before the next Saturday and at his first race, he finished pretty poorly but was immediately hooked on oval racing. At the time, this was not dirt, but instead a high-banked concrete oval. Before leaving the track that day, Lenny meets Robert Williams and buys a used Associated RC10 GT. Lenny came home and had it ready to race before the next Saturday's race. Following the purchase of the used car, Lenny invites Tracy to come out and watch a race with him, but little did Tracy know that this used RC car would be the one that he raced that day. The very first time Tracy had ever seen an RC track or race, he entered and won his first ever race. Lenny and Tracy spent the next year racing at the same track with some success. Later on, after the fall of the World of RC concrete oval, Lenny races 1-2 races at the dirt oval track at World of RC but soon transfers to the concrete oval track at the Antique Barn in Wilson, NC. There, Lenny and Tracy ran a variety of classes including Associated RC10 GT's and a 1/18 scale late model with tons of success and never losing a race. The majority of Lenny and Tracy's victory's came while racing the Associated NTC3's with truck bodies, late model bodies, and NASCAR bodies. At the time, their first racing team was known as B&B Racing. After several years at the Antique Barn, Lenny and Tracy discuss getting out of RC racing due to being burnt out after all the years of racing and losing family time on weekends.
How We Came Back
After many years of being out of RC racing, Lenny's son Landon meets a friend that has an RC car and races at the new Thunder Alley RC Speedway in Lucama, NC. After talking with his friend and developing an urge to start RC racing for himself, he finally gets one for Christmas that year and eventually brings Lenny and Tracy back along after a month or two. This time, no high banking, no concrete, and no nitro. These cars are all electric and raced on flat, hard packed, dirt oval. It's a new fresh start for all 3 of them and they have quickly made themselves known at the track, winning many races, and forming a new version of B&B Racing, Team ETD and Triple B Racing.
